Tonight was the first show for NWA in Charlotte, trying to pick up the pieces after the crash and burn of the promotion that tried to run here before. It was a solid first step. Crowd was about 120, which given the limited promotion that was able to be done, was respectable. The wrestling, from the top to the bottom of the card, was good to great. You will see a common theme coming from me—-if you are not out there at your local shows, you are missing pro wrestling. While setting up for the show, an older gentleman came by and looked at our flyer and asked “is there anybody I’ve heard of on here?” My response was “No, but ten years ago, you had not heard of a lot of guys you see on WWE and TNA—this is where you see the cutting edge, the stars of tomorrow”. NWA has been around for over 60 years because we have always been about bringing wrestling to everyone, whether its in the high school gyms, the national guard armories, or the bigger arenas. Our promoters and wrestlers are out there WORKING! Go see your local shows (especially if it has the NWA banner!). You will have a great time and remember what you loved about pro wrestling.
Good first step
